EA planned to shutdown Battlefield Mobile and Apex Legends

On November 8 2022 Battlefield Mobile Beta released for mobile devices (Android). The beta is released in few countries only namely Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. EA had plans to add other countries in the coming months. The game is free-to-play and includes in-game purchase and EA Mobile had confirmed that these are only cosmetic items rather than pay to win. Note that this Battlefield Mobile is modeled from Battlefield 3.

But unfortunately the game did not see any further development and EA confirmed this in their recent press release.

EA in their recent press release said that “As the industry has evolved and our strategy to create a deeply connected Battlefield ecosystem has taken shape, we decided to pivot from the current direction to best deliver on our vision for the franchise and to meet the expectations of our players. We remain highly committed to unlocking Battlefield’s enormous potential. We’re hard at work at evolving Battlefield 2042, and are in pre-production on our future Battlefield experiences at our studios across the globe.”

EA asked the opinions of the players who have played the beta and they received mixed reviews. The game is still in beta and needed more work. Most players complained about the shooting gameplay is not realistic. The shooting effects and gun recoil needs to be improved. Some said it is worse than Counter Strike 1.6.

However EA had made a clear decision to cancel this game and their key priority to focus on Battlefield 2042.

Meanwhile another popular shooting game Apex Legends also shuttering down in coming May 2023. This game will not be playable after May 1 2023 and the game will be removed from the digital stores -
